On May 8, 2004, LAPD Police Chief failed to show up at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, where a rally was held for David March, murdered by Armando Garcia who fled to Mexico. Bratton had previously confirmed that he would attend the rally as a quest speaker but failed to show up. Speculation has it that when Bratton got wind of a planned demonstration against him, he chickened out.

Flyers were handed out protesting Mayor Hahn's support for Special Order 40, the police mandate that allows alien criminals to escape justice by simply crossing the border to Mexican sanctuary.

Mayor Hahn who has said that "Los Angeles is a Mexican City" is part of the problem. Instead of kissing up to the Mexican government, Mayor Hahn should be demanding the extradition of the 360 murderers who fled L.A. County to find sanctuary in Mexico.

Neither Mayor Hahn nor any of the so called "major" candidates for L.A. mayor actively supported Sheriff Lee Baca and District Attorney Steve Cooley, to persuade the Mexican Government to extradite the more than 300 Mexican fugitives wanted for crimes of murder and rape committed in Los Angeles city and county, who are now living free in Mexico.

Mayor Hahn said nothing when LAPD Police Chief William Bratton decided not to attend a rally to protest against the Mexican government.
Walter Moore is the only candidate who will speak out against Mexico's lopsided extradition policy.
